They were. . . HUNTING US DOWN!
Taking us one by one. . . Striking from the shadows, swooping with their rotting limbs, their fetid breath bathing our necks. . .
Soon I heard them. . . the voices of those who had joined me. . . Moaning in pain as tortures not known by mankind was inflicted on them. . . designed only for joy of those horrible beings!
Those creatures. . . no, those MONSTERS would have killed me! And if we all died, then what would have been the purpose?
I left them behind, let those demons have their will. . . because I had to!
Had I stayed. . . had I tried to help. . . THEY WOULD HAVE WON!
Those monsters-- their horrific mouths spouting their venom towards us, their eyeless faces turning towards us, reaching for us shrieking their never-ending moans of suffering, of the suffering they urged to pass on to someone else. . .
THEY HAD TO BE STOPPED!
